From April 15-22, Houston will serve as a host city for Fleet Week as part of the celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary.

Here are a few Fleet Week Houston events beginning Tuesday:

Fleet Week will kick off with Music in the Park from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Water Works in Buffalo Bayou Park, 105 Sabine St. Families can bring picnics, lawn chairs and other items to make themselves comfortable.

The Fleet Week Houston Parade of Ships will begin at 7 a.m. Wednesday as U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships kickoff of inaugural Fleet Week Houston at Seawolf Park, 100 Seawolf Park Blvd.

Fleet Week Houston will host an event at Avenida Houston Plaza from 6\-9 p.m. Thursday.

The event will feature a free concert with live music from the Suffers, Navy Band Southeast and special guests, according to the Fleet Week Houston website. It also will include food trucks, photo opportunities and games.

Saint Arnold Brewing Co. will host a Fleet Week Houston event from 5:30-9 p.m. April 17. The event will feature a DJ and vendors on-site.

Ellington Airport and Lone Star Flight Museum will present the Fleet Week Houston Aviation Exhibit on April 18 and 19, allowing visitors to view the museum’s permanent exhibits and interact with Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard aircraft from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On April 18 and 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Fleet Week Houston will host a free expo featuring local culture, food, entertainment and businesses.

Fleet Week Houston’s East End Block Party will celebrate the week with a free backyard barbecue in the East End from 3 to 9 p.m. April 18 at 2800 Navigation Blvd. The block party will feature live music and lucha libre wrestling.

From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. April 20, Fleet Week Houston will host a festival and drone show in Seabrook.

The free event will feature food and vendors from local and veteran-owned businesses, followed by a patriotic-themed drone show honoring the 250th birthday of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps.

The event will take place on Main Street between Bryan Avenue and Todville Road and will also offer a free shuttle service from parking lots to the festival.
