SAN ANTONIO – A man is dead and two others were detained by police after a shooting at a Northwest Side motel.

The shooting happened just after 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Starlite Motel off Fredericksburg Road near Interstate 10.

When officers arrived, they found a man shot twice in the chest. Life-saving measures were started immediately until paramedics arrived.

He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Two people that were inside the motel room were taken into custody.

Investigators said the deadly shooting started with an argument between the victim and someone inside the motel room, who ultimately pulled a gun and shot him.

A gun was found at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
