While details remain limited, Houston Ship Channel officials confirmed that a diesel spill involving Pemex Deer Park prompted a response team deployment, including the use of oil booms, according to a statement. The source of the leak has been identified and isolated, officials said.
“We have notified the appropriate regulatory agencies and are working closely with them as we continue to assess and respond,” said Liz Nunez, a spokesperson with Pemex said. “At this time, we are not aware of any impact to the surrounding community or our industrial neighbors.”
