Hartford Athletic hadn’t lost a match all season, so they may have been due for a clunker.

The team really made their clunker count, getting blasted 4-0 at home by El Paso Locomotive FC on Saturday.

El Paso wasted little time getting on the board, as Eric Calvillo fired one home in the 12th minute to open the scoring. Locomotive FC would score three times in the first half, as Tony Alfaro converted a penalty in the 24th minute and Diego Abitia sent in a header off a corner kick in the 32nd.

Gabriel Torres sent home a rebound goal in the 64th to give El Paso a 4-0 advantage.

Hartford actually outshot El Paso in the game, 12-11, though Locomotive FC had 58 percent of possession.

The loss wasn’t too damaging for Athletic, now 2-3-1 on the season (W-D-L) and tied for fourth in the USL Eastern Conference standings.

The team will host Loudon United FC on Saturday, April 18 at 7 p.m.
