After securing 9-8 and 11-4 victories to take the series against No. 2 Texas, the No. 18 Texas A&M Aggies will look for the sweep on Sunday afternoon in Bryan-College Station.
Game 2 was one of the best all-around performances from Texas A&M so far this year. The Aggie lineup continued to shine, as they recorded 11 runs on nine hits and 11 RBI, including two doubles, a triple and a home run against the Longhorns. Outfielder Caden Sorrell added to his SEC-leading home run total with a two-run blast that had Olsen Field covered with bubbles. Meanwhile, first baseman Gavin Grahovac maintained his status as a hitter that no pitcher wants to face right now, as he notched three RBI and his second game in a row with a triple.
The story of the Aggies’ seven-run victory over the Longhorns to secure the series was on the mound, however. Aiden Sims got the start and did not disappoint, as he notched three strikeouts and allowed just three earned runs in 4.2 innings of work. Gavin Lyons came into the game in relief of Sims and posted five strikeouts, including back-to-back K’s to end the game and send Blue Bell Park into a frenzy.
