EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Animal Services is launching an investigation to identify two individuals seen in viral videos in connection with separate animal incidents.

According to a social media post, the department’s officers are working to identify the individuals and investigate both incidents.

The first video, captured by home security camera, shows a man who appears to be walking two dogs. One dog is seen behind the man, sniffing some grass and the other dog is walking forward, tugging the leash and causing the man to jerk forward a bit. The man was on his phone when the leash was tugged.

The man appears to yank the second dog’s leash, and the dog is seen being pulled back, almost flying towards the man and crashing into the other dog. Both dogs and the man continued their walk.

The second video shows a woman and a dog walking through what looks like a strip mall. The dog is seen close to the woman’s side. The woman pulls the leash, and the dog yelps.

After the yelp, the woman pulls the dog’s leash back, making the dog sit. The woman appears to discipline the dog by talking to it.

The video cuts and the woman walking with the dog and again pulls the leash, causing the dog to yelp. The video zooms in to show what looks like the woman grabbing the dog’s ears and the dog continues to yelp. The woman is then seen bending down to speak to the dog and the dog sits.

The video cuts a third time and the dog yelps twice as the two walk toward the parking lot. The woman turns the dog around, and again the dog yelps twice. The woman is heard saying “Stop,” and “No.”

The dog continues to yelp.

The duo is seen walking down the strip mall again, the woman tugs the leash, and the dog barks. The woman raises the leash, making the dog stand on two legs, and forces the dog back down to sit. The final seconds of the video show the woman and dog walking away.

Anyone with any information on either incident can call 311.

“Remember, if you see something, say something. Help us by speaking up for those who can’t speak for themselves,” El Paso Animal Services said.
