Head coach Glen Gulutzan offered updates on a few injured players before the Dallas Stars face the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night.
According to Gulutzan, Roope Hintz, Matt Duchene and Oskar Bäck are all day-to-day with separate injuries. Hintz, Duchene and Bäck weren’t at the team’s morning skate Tuesday, meaning they’ll likely miss the meeting with Washington.
Hintz was injured after taking a heavy hit in the Stars’ 3-2 win over Carolina on Saturday. Meanwhile, Duchene has been out since Oct. 18 with an upper-body injury.
Bäck notably made his return to the Stars’ lineup Sunday in Nashville after missing the season’s first eight games. Gulutzan said Bäck’s new injury is “not quite the same thing” he was dealing with before, but he would also be listed as day-to-day.

Bäck played 8:28 in the Stars’ 3-2 win over Nashville on Sunday, scoring his first goal of the season in the second period.
Thomas Harley was also held off from the team’s morning skate, but Gulutzan said the defenseman should be playing Tuesday night. Gulutzan added that Kyle Capobianco will “probably figure in” to the lineup against the Capitals.
“It’s certainly a strength of this organization, just the depth we have with guys like [Capobianco] who has played games and can come up, fill in for you, play and help you,” Gulutzan said. “That’s important. You can look around the league, it’s lots of injuries piling up on teams and we’re no exception.”
