EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Police are investigating a shots fired call on Monday afternoon, April 13 at an East El Paso park in the Cielo Vista area, police said.

Police said they are investigating an incident at Jim Crouch Park, formerly Ponder Park, at 7500 W.H. Burges Dr. No injuries have been reported and there is no imminent threat in the area, police said.

A nearby high school was placed on lockdown amid the investigation. El Paso Independent School District officials told KTSM 9 News the lockdown was later lifted and placed under “hold.”

The LOCKDOWN protocol at Burges High School has been lifted and the campus has moved to a HOLD to help the campus smoothly transition to regular class schedules. Thank you for your trust and understanding.

This park is the site of the City’s Aug. 3 memorial to victims of the Cielo Vista Walmart shooting.
