LUBBOCK COUNTY, Texas (KCBD) – The Texas Department of Public Safety said a Petersburg man is dead after a crash northeast of Ransom Canyon.
DPS said 37-year-old Jorge Calderon of Petersburg was driving west on CR 5300 when he approached the intersection of FM 400. He drove by the stop sign at the intersection when a Chevy pickup truck was driving north on FM 400 and hit him.
The truck hit Calderon’s driver’s side of the vehicle. Calderon was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second car was taken to Covenant Hospital in Lubbock for minor injuries.
DPS said both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
