A high school in the Prosper ISD hosted its first-ever barbecue competition last weekend – and it turned out to be something good for the hometown team.
Walnut Grove High School had two teams in the Texas High School Barbecue Competition. In the words of sponsor Brett Claypoole, “the home team results were insane to say the least.”

Both teams qualified for the state championship in two weeks in Granite Shoals in the Texas Hill Country.
They’ll face 107 other competitors and hope to smoke ’em all to win the state.
