COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M baseball’s offense continued to impress Tuesday, downing Houston, 10-2.
The Aggies (28-7, 9-5 SEC) scored two runs in the second inning, then two more in the third before exploding for five runs in the fifth.

They tallied three home runs off the bats of third baseman Nico Partida (11th of the season), first baseman Grahovac (10th), and right fielder Jorian Wilson (seventh).

Houston got out to an early two-run lead in the first inning, but was unable to find any offensive production for the rest of the night, tallying just six hits from the second inning on.
A&M’s starting pitcher, Cole Hubert, was roughed up in a very short outing. The left-hander did not record an out, gave up Houston’s only two runs, and allowed two hits on 17 pitches.

The Aggies used seven pitchers, with the relievers combining for eight innings, six hits and no runs on the night.
Cougars’ starting pitcher, Caden Cooper, also had a short outing, but in a planned bullpen game. The righty lasted one inning, giving up no hits or runs and just one walk.
Houston used eight pitchers and struggled to hold down A&M’s top-three offense.
Next up for the Aggies is 6 p.m. Friday as they head to Baton Rouge to take on LSU.

Only a two-out hit-by-pitch put a runner on base for Houston, as it’s gone seven innings without a run.
Aggies’ 1-2-3 hitters went down in order, all with strikeouts.
A pair of singles put two on with no outs. But a 5-6-3 double play erased two before the Aggies got out of the inning unscathed with a pop out to center field.
A&M’s 7-8-9 hitters went down in order to end the sixth inning.
Making his first collegiate appearance, Luke Billings allowed just one base runner (a walk) but struck out the side as A&M continued to retire Houston hitters.

A Partida walk was followed by a Kiel single to put two on with no outs. From there, a Wilson double drove them both in. Harrison was then hit by a pitch, prompting the Cougars to opt for a pitching change, their fourth of the evening.
From there, Grahovac blasted a three-run home run off the batter’s eye. The Aggies added another after an error that allowed Hacopian to reach first, followed by a Duer single that drove him in.
A single and a double were erased and left stranded as the Cougars’ offense continues to be shut down since the two runs they scored in the first inning.

A&M put two on but left them stranded, bringing the total to six on the night.
Aggies’ pitching has continued to settle down, this time sitting the Cougars down in order.
A Duer triple was followed by a Partida homer to center field to give the Aggies their first lead of the night.
Back-to-back singles put two on the corners with one out. But a well-executed 3-6-1 double play ended the frame.
A Partida single led to a Wilson two-run home run, tying the game at 2-2. A&M loaded the bases, but Hacopian grounded out to short, stranding them.

A two-out walk was the only offense the Cougars had, as Vargas has come in and settled down since Hubert’s rough start.

A leadoff single by Cox was followed by a Broussard walk, which led to a Perez single that drove in the game’s first run. From there, Climie slapped a single to left field to drive home another run.
The rough start forced the Aggies to turn to the bullpen, bringing in reliever Juan Vargas, who got out of the inning without any further damage.
