Texas A&M baseball clinched the Lone Star Showdown series against Texas winning Friday and Saturday, in College Station despite the Sunday rain out.
But the Aggies have another rival to play next. This time, they won’t get the comfort of Blue Bell Park for the weekend series against LSU.
The reigning national champion Tigers (22-15, 6-9 SEC) dropped out of D1baseball.com‘s top 25 rankings after losing four straight, including being swept the previous weekend by Ole Miss. A&M (22-7, 9-5) went from 18th to 10th after clinching the series against the Longhorns. Last season, the Aggies and Tigers split a Saturday doubleheader but LSU eventually took the series with a 6-4 win Sunday.
