A plane has exploded into a fireball off a highway in Fort Worth, Texas on Sunday
Images from the scene show thick plumes of smoke billowing over the city after the plane exploded into a fireball.
Multiple semi-trucks are also believed to be on fire.
The Fort Worth Fire Department said the crash happened near Hicks Airfield, just off Business 287 in Tarrant County.
It is close to the 12000 block of N. Saginaw Blvd., near Avondale.
Social media video captured the dark smoke billowing at the site of the crash.Â
According to the fire department, the plane hit 18-wheelers and trailers but the fire is now under control.
The area of the crash is located between Fort Worth Alliance Airport and Fort Worth Meacham Airport, west of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.Â

The plane is a small single-engine Cirrus SR-22 aircraft, according to reports.
Emergency crews from the Fort Worth, Haslet, and Saginaw Fire Department have responded.
