SAN ANTONIO — It’s time for Fiesta, San Antonio! Ahead of this year’s festivities, local law enforcement is sharing safety measures they’re implementing to keep guests safe.

“Our goal is to make sure the public is safe and that they enjoy their time here at Fiesta,” San Antonio Police Department Capt. Robert Vara said in a presser this week ahead of Fiesta.

Vara says there will be four entrances to Fiesta for the public: one on Commerce and South Santa Rosa, another on Houston Street and two more on De La Rosa Street.

As for safety measures, SAPD is adding concrete barriers in areas police see as an issue for potential vehicle attacks and metal detectors at all four entrances.

A bag policy is in place that allows bags no larger than 12 x 6 x 12, with diaper bags being an exception. Clear bags are recommended but not required, as long as they follow the size rule.

Prohibited items at Fiesta include:

Outside food/drinks
Smoking/vaping
Illegal substances
Firearms
Backpacks (unless it’s a diaper bag)
