AUSTIN, Texas — Two men have been arrested in connection with a February aggravated assault at an east Austin bar, while police continue searching for a third suspect believed to have ties to the Houston area.

The assault occurred around 1:19 a.m. Feb. 28 at the Lowdown Lounge, located at 1412 East Sixth St., according to the Austin Police Department. Officers responded to reports of a disturbance and found an adult male with head injuries. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said three men assaulted three other men inside the bar in what police described as an unprovoked attack. One of the victims suffered serious bodily injury.

Following the release of surveillance video, detectives identified and arrested two suspects with the help of community tips, police said.

Darion Deshon Dickson has been charged with aggravated assault with serious bodily injury, and Jamal Brooks has been charged with assault causing bodily injury, according to APD.

Detectives are still working to identify a third suspect described as a Black male, approximately 6 feet 5 inches to 6 feet 6 inches tall, with a large build. He was last seen wearing a dark hoodie. Investigators believe he may have connections to the Houston area.

Police said additional witnesses may have information about the incident and encouraged anyone with tips to come forward.
