Retail and grocery giant Target is cashing in on some sweet deals at its Temple store in Central Texas, with expansion plans coming down the pipeline to make shopping even easier for customers. Target submitted project filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) on Tuesday, April 14, for a $70,000 endeavor to bolster drive-up offerings for shoppers.
The project applies to Target’s store located at 3550 S. General Bruce Drive, Temple, TX 76504. The 9,262-square-foot project calls for upgrades to the parking lot on site, including re-stripping, installation of new parking stall signage, wayfinding drive-up beacons to guide customers, as well as new lighting fixtures, per the TDLR filing.
Construction on the project is tentatively expected to begin in early May, ahead of an estimated December completion date. TDLR filings, including costs and timeline details, are preliminary estimates and are subject to change.Â
The improvements to Temple’s storefront come amid a company push for new and expanded drive-up offerings across the Lone Star State. Alongside Temple, Target officials have registered similar renovation projects at two San Antonio stores as well as outposts in Houston, Galveston and San Marcos, according to project filing records.
As for Target’s Central Texas footprint, the retailer is expected to finalize work on its inaugural debut in the buzzy North Austin suburb of Liberty Hill later this year. Target is expected to open its approximately $22 million store in the tiny Texas boomtown in June, based on preliminary timelines. Â
