Family confirmed to KHOU 11’s Anayeli Ruiz that Ashanti Allen’s body has been found.
HOUSTON — The body of missing 23-year-old Ashanti Allen has been found in southwest Houston, her family has confirmed.
Allen was about 8 months pregnant when she was reported missing earlier this month, officials said.
Crews with the Houston Police Department and Texas EquuSearch had been actively looking for her. On Thursday, EquuSearch founder Tim Miller said a body was found near Chimney Rock Park. Allen’s family later confirmed it was her.
Allen had last been seen on April 10 at an apartment complex off Main Street near NRG Stadium. Family members told KHOU 11’s Anayeli Ruiz during the search that they had gotten a strange text from her in the middle of the night, saying she was not coming back.

They said the circumstances were odd, as Allen had left all her belongings at the apartment, including items for the baby.
Miller said Allen had been having difficulties with her pregnancy and did not have her own car.
“Thinking she left on her own, I don’t see that happening,” Miller said as the search was ongoing.

She was last seen in her mother’s vehicle, which is now in police custody.
EquuSearch crews had been searching empty fields near Allen’s home.
Court records show Allen was a victim in a family‑violence case a few months ago with a man she was dating. Police could not confirm if he is involved in her disappearance.
This is a developing story that will be updated as we learn more.
