Suspect faces multiple charges after fleeing deputies in early-morning pursuit across South Side and rural roadways.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 27-year-old man was arrested after leading deputies and police on a high-speed motorcycle chase across parts of Corpus Christi early Thursday morning.
The Nueces County Precinct Five Constable said the suspect, Justin Venegas, faces multiple charges, including evading arrest in a vehicle, unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance (PG1 1–4 grams), and unlawful use of a criminal instrument.
The constable said the motorcycle involved in the pursuit was reported stolen by the Corpus Christi Police Department on Tuesday and later recovered and returned to its owner.
The incident began shortly after 2 a.m. on Wednesday when Precinct 5 deputies assisted a Corpus Christi Police officer tracking a suspected stolen motorcycle leaving the city near TX-44 and FM 3386.
Deputies located the motorcycle near FM 1694 and County Road 44, but the rider refused to stop, leading to a pursuit.
The chase continued at high speed through Violet and Up River Road, passed through the Five Points area, and south toward County Road 36 near Interstate 69.
Venegas eventually stopped and surrendered to authorities.
Multiple agencies assisted during the incident, including the Corpus Christi Police Department, Robstown Police Department, and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
