Two people died in an accident in Fort Worth on Thursday, according to a news release from Fort Worth police. 

Police and fire crews responded to a car accident near 1940 Delga Street just before 11:30 a.m., the release said. They found that a car struck a parked car and then traveled a short distance before it stopped. 

Emergency crews found a man dead in the passenger area of the wrecked car, the release said. Crews provided medical care to the driver, but he died on the scene. The identities of the two men have not been released.

As the investigation went on, fire crews found a large amount of an unknown chemical inside the vehicle, the release said. The area was secured and detectives were called to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A firefighter was taken to a local hospital for a possible exposure, but there are no threats to the surrounding area or public, the release said.
