Junior League of Lubbock to host annual Touch-a-Truck event

  • April 16, 2026

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – (News release from the Junior League of Lubbock)

The Junior League of Lubbock is excited to announce that its annual Touch-a-Truck event will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the South Plains Mall.

Touch-a-Truck is a free, family-friendly community event designed to give children of all ages a hands-on opportunity to explore, touch, and interact with a wide variety of vehicles and equipment. From helicopters and farm equipment to construction vehicles and more, attendees will have the chance to get up close to machines they often see from afar.

In addition to exploring the vehicles, children and families will be able to meet the operators behind the equipment and learn more about what it takes to operate these impressive machines, offering a fun and educational experience for the entire community.

“The Touch-a-Truck event is one of our favorite ways to bring the community together for a day of learning, exploration, and fun,” said Kiera Mize, Chair of this year’s Touch-a-Truck committee. “We are proud to offer an inclusive event that welcomes families of all abilities.”

The event has continued to grow in popularity each year. Last year’s Touch-a-Truck welcomed more than 5,750 attendees and featured 125 vehicles, making it one of the Junior League of Lubbock’s largest and most anticipated community events.

The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a horn-free hour from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., thoughtfully designed for children and families who are hearing sensitive. The full event will continue until 2:00 p.m.
