SAN ANTONIO – A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the death of a man whose body was found inside a bloody trash bag at his West Side home.
Alyssa Sophia Herrera, 36, was charged Wednesday with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, a third-degree felony.

Daniel Sebastian Ordonez, 31, is also charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and failing to report human remains in connection to the death of his father, Daniel Antonio Ordonez.
Investigators say the case began as a missing persons report after a family member who lives out of town noticed unusual activity on the victim’s phone and smartwatch.
Using location data, officers were led to a rental property owned by the victim, where they found his phone and keys buried in a plant pot with fresh soil. One of his vehicles was also found at the property with what appeared to be a bullet hole in the rear window.
Police later searched the victim’s primary home off Vera Cruz, where his son and daughter-in-law lived. Inside a rear structure, officers discovered a large trash bag with what appeared to be blood leaking from it. A body was found inside and later identified as the victim.
Investigators say there were signs the body had been dragged, along with evidence that blood had been cleaned both inside and outside the home.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner determined the victim died from a gunshot wound to the head and ruled the death a homicide.
According to an arrest affidavit, investigators also obtained surveillance video and receipts showing Ordonez used the victim’s debit card to purchase items including cleaning supplies, duct tape, gloves, a shovel, concrete and a “mummy”-style sleeping bag. Authorities believe those items were used to conceal evidence.
During questioning, Ordonez denied involvement and told investigators he did not know what happened to his father. Police also say he failed to report his father’s death.
Ordonez and Herrera both remain in custody at the Bexar County Jail. They have not been charged with murder at this time.
