Offensive physical contact against a family member (listed as domestic violence under the Clery Act)
On April 10, a student reported his ex-girlfriend assaulted him, UTA Police Capt. Mike McCord said in an email.
Offensive physical contact against a family member is a third-degree felony punishable by jail time between two and 10 years. Perpetrators may also receive a fine not exceeding $10,000.
Indecent assault
On April 13, a student reported an indecent assault by an unidentified individual, McCord said.
Indecent assault is a class A misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $4,000, up to one year in jail or both.

Accident involving injury and failure to immediately report an accident with injury, death or where a vehicle is incapacitated
On April 8, officers investigated an accident involving a vehicle and a student who was riding a scooter, McCord said. The vehicle fled the scene before the officers’ arrival. The student was transported to Arlington Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An accident involving injury and failure to immediately report an accident with injury, death or where a vehicle is incapacitated is punishable by imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for not more than five years or confinement in the county jail for not more than one year, a fine not to exceed $5,000 or both when death or serious injury is not involved.

Driver’s license or ID false, evading arrest detention, defecation or urination in public, consumption of alcohol by a minor and person under 21 in possession of a cigarette, tobacco or e-cigarette
On April 7, an officer arrested an unaffiliated person who was urinating in public and fled from officers, McCord said. He gave false identifying information and was in possession of tobacco while under 21 years old. He was transported to the Arlington Police Department jail.
A fictitious license is a class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
Evading arrest or detention is a class A misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $4,000, up to one year in jail or both.
Defecating or urinating in public falls under disorderly conduct and is a class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
A minor caught in possession of tobacco products is subject to a fine of up to $100.
Possession of alcohol by a minor is a class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
Forgery of a financial instrument
On April 9, a staff member reported a fraudulent check, McCord said.
Forgery of a financial instrument between $2,500 and $30,000 is a third-degree felony punishable by jail time between two and 10 years. Perpetrators may also receive a fine not exceeding $10,000.
