The permit outlines plans for Donatos to build a new 1,730-square-foot restaurant, with construction slated to begin at the end of June and finish by the end of November. Don’t take that as an opening date as things can change in the buildout process.

Donatos’ arrival comes just months after the Columbus, Ohio-based chain announced that three active franchise groups were focused on developing throughout Houston with two to three expected this year with the first slated to open this summer. But it’s unclear if that timeline is still accurate.

Chron has reached out to Donatos Pizza for more information on the Humble location and the others opening soon around the area. We will update this story if and when we hear back.

According to Donatos Pizza’s website, the decades-old chain currently has three locations in Texas. Beyond the Houston-area expansion, the company is looking for immediate market opportunities in Dallas-Fort Worth, Waco and across East Texas. Longterm, it has big goals of being a “household name in the Lone Star State” and wants to open over 100 locations over the next several years.
