A 24-year-old man has been charged with murder after the mother of his unborn child was found dead Thursday, according to the Houston Police Department.
Authorities filed the murder charge Thursday against Kevin Faux, whom police were still searching for.
Investigators and Texas EquuSearch discovered a body at 11655 Chimney Rock Road on Thursday around 9 a.m. while searching for a missing person.
“During the continuous week-long search for Ashanti Allen, Texas EquuSearch a member located a deceased person this morning,” Texas EquuSearch said in a social media update Thursday. “Although Identification is pending, it is thought to be missing pregnant woman, Ashanti and her unborn child, Jackson.”
Allen was eight months pregnant and was last seen April 10, per Texas EquuSearch.
