Richardson voters will see five bond propositions, 50 charter amendments and up to two Richardson ISD school board elections on the ballot:

Richardson bond election: The ballot will include five propositions for the city’s $223.4 million bond proposal, including funds for street improvements, fire facilities, park and recreational facilities, sidewalks, and flood control and drainage.Richardson charter amendments: Many of the 50 charter amendments are grammatical corrections or clarifying language, but substantive amendments include adding a one-year residency requirement for council, board and commission members, and requiring a mayor or council member to resign from their position if they become a candidate for a different elective public office.Richardson ISD board of trustees: All voters who live in Richardson ISD will vote in the election for At-Large Place 6 on the school board. Voters who live in RISD District 3 will also vote in the election for the District 3 seat.While the ballot is required to state that each bond proposition “is a tax increase,” City Manager Don Magner said the program does not include a tax rate increase.

All polls will be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. May 2 for election day. Dallas County residents may vote at any Dallas County election day locations, which will include Berkner High School, Canyon Creek Elementary and other Richardson locations.
