Authorities say a hazardous materials incident that left two men dead and a firefighter hospitalized on Thursday involved a large amount of suspected liquid methamphetamine.
The incident happened on Delga Street near the North Freeway frontage road, where a black van crashed into a parked car. One man was found dead inside the vehicle, and the driver later died after being pulled from the van.
Fort Worth police said testing of the contents inside buckets found in the van returned a presumptive positive result for liquid methamphetamine. Investigators estimate the substance weighed about 480 pounds, with a potential street value between $1 million and $3 million.
Officials have not yet determined how the men died. A firefighter was hospitalized after being exposed to an unknown substance during the response. He has since been released and is reported to be in good condition.
