EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is returning to El Paso for a limited run at the Plaza Theatre, with tickets now on sale for performances beginning Wednesday, June 10.

Disney Theatrical Group, under the direction of Andrew Flatt and Anne Quart, and Broadway in El Paso announced that the production is the first North American touring production of the musical presented by Disney in more than 25 years.

The show will play through Sunday, June 14, at the Plaza Theatre.

Based on the 1991 Academy Award-winning animated film, Beauty and the Beast premiered on Broadway in 1994 and became one of the longest-running shows in Broadway history. The production was nominated for nine Tony Awards and won for Best Costume Design. The story has continued to expand globally through stage productions and the 2017 live-action film, which grossed more than $1 billion worldwide.

In El Paso, the performance schedule is:

Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.Thursday at 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.Friday at 8 p.m.Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.Sunday at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
