A lieutenant with the Houston Police Department has been arrested for alleged online solicitation of a minor, according to Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen.
Lt. Quoc Viet Ngo, 50, was arrested Friday as he allegedly drove to the home of a person he believed to be a 15-year-old girl, Rosen said in a social media post. According to Rosen, Ngo was traveling to “engage in sexual activity” with the minor. Ngo is also accused of sending sexually explicit images to a detective posing as a teenage girl online.
“Everyone is equal under the law and we appreciate the Houston Police Department’s active cooperation [in] this case,” Rosen said via a statement. “This is a reminder that child predators come from all parts of society and we will never stop doing all we can to protect children.”
