Walmart Inc. will remodel 72 stores across Texas this year, including nine in Dallas-Fort Worth:

Overall, Walmart (NYSE: WMT) has invested more than $2.5 billion in statewide upgrades over the past five years as it works to modernize its stores and digital experience. Nationally, the company plans to remodel more than 650 supercenters and neighborhood markets this year.

Alongside its planned renovations, Walmart is also in the process of opening 150 modernized stores nationwide by 2029. As part of that initiative, the retailer will soon open a new 200,000-square-foot store in Celina. The store will employ about 300 associates and anchor the billion-dollar Shawnee Trail project, which will span 195 acres at the northwest corner of Preston Road and the Collin County Outer Loop.
