The Legacy boys track team has won seven meets in seven tries this season.

The Rebels added more hardware to their collection on Friday by claiming the title at the Districts 1-6/2-6A Area Track and Field Meet at Socorro ISD Student Activities Complex in El Paso.

LHS put up a team score of 130 points to beat second-place El Paso Franklin (103) for the area title.

The top four finishers in each event advanced to the Region I-6A meet, May 1-2 in Arlington.

Senior Nic Moore spearheaded the Rebel boys with three golds and a silver.

Moore took first place in the triple jump with an impressive mark of 47 feet, 4 inches, won the 200 meters (21.43 seconds) and placed second in the long jump (23-2).

LHS also received individual wins from Masseye Diop in the 110 hurdles (13.96) and Caden Ellis in the 100-meter dash (10.62).

The Rebels 800 relay of Diop, Weldon Cooks, Moore and Ellis won with a time of 1:25.08.

Despite the good day, the Rebels had one disappointing development as their highly-touted 400 relay was disqualified and saw its season end.

The Midland High boys were highlighted by Isaac Lujan, who cleared 6-6 to win the high jump.

The Lady Rebels placed second (93) behind El Paso Franklin (131) in the girls team standings.

The LHS girls received wins from North Texas signee Madison Gonzales in the shot put with a great throw of 44-6.50, Iyana Smith in the 100-meter dash (12.11) and their 800 relay of Gabby Gutierrez, Jaelynn Norman, Tarayah Hubert and Smith (1:41.91).
