Fiesta 2026 kicked off Thursday as hundreds of revelers filled Travis Park for Fiesta Fiesta, a free, family-friendly event that officially launches the 11-day party.
Sights of flower crowns, over-the-top hat creations and remnants of cracked cascarones mixed with the sounds of Fiesta medals clacking on sashes and live music at the downtown event.
Fiesta, which marks its 135th anniversary this year, includes over 100 events benefiting various non-profit organizations. Fiesta was first held in 1891 with a single parade – the Battle of Flowers honoring the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of Jacinto.Â
Fiesta continues through April 26.
