COLLEGE STATION — For the final time before it shuts down activity until July, Texas A&M football will hit the field Saturday. But now fans can watch as well.

The Aggies will host their 15th practice of the spring, this time at Kyle Field, for their annual Maroon and White game.

The team was split into two, with captains selecting the rosters. Quarterback Marcel Reed and safety Dalton Brooks selected the white team’s roster. Wide receiver Terry Bussey and linebacker Daymion Sanford picked the maroon team.

A&M will be without 20 scholarship athletes for the exhibition. Some absences — such as CB Dezz Ricks and WR Jerome Myles, who both missed the entire spring while dealing with ailments from the previous season — are not surprising. Others, like CB Rickey Gibson III and Terry Bussey, are dealing with injuries suffered during the spring.

In total, the Aggies brought in 25 high school recruits and 18 via the transfer portal. Saturday’s scrimmage is the team’s first action in front of the public since its College Football Playoff loss to Miami.
