Flooding shuts down part of I-10 in East End

About 3.6 inches of rain fell at the Buffalo Bayou Turning Basin and about 2.8 inches of rain fell in Jacinto City, according to the Harris County Flood Warning System.

The deluge forced the closure of all lanes of I-10 at McCarty, west of the East Loop, according to Houston TranStar. The agency also warned of localized flooding over much of east Houston. 

Rain totals varied widely in other parts of the region, with some receiving less than an inch of rain, according to the county’s Flood Warning System.
