AUSTIN, Texas — San Antonio Spurs legend Tim Duncan is the subject of a new documentary, “The Boy from St. Croix,” which premiered at the IMAX Theater at the Bullock Museum during the Austin Film Festival on Tuesday.
The film delves into Duncan’s formative years, his enduring basketball legacy, and the influence of his Caribbean roots.

Former teammates Fabricio Oberto and Manu Ginobili attended the premiere to support Duncan and the film, which is produced and directed by his older brother, Scott Duncan.
Scott, an Emmy-winning director of photography for “Survivor,” shared his experience working on the project: “It’s definitely at times caught me off guard that’s 100 percent personal and 100 percent family and representing my brother who is himself… it was at times I’m editing over a year and I still get caught off guard… like a diary I’m opening up a bit.”
“Survivor” host Jeff Probst also appeared on the red carpet to support Scott. The two have a book coming out next year to celebrate the show’s 50th season.
