No, this is not a drill. It’s been more than seven years since Spurs fans have been able to look forward to two things — a playoff run and the free coffee that came after every win. And now, San Antonio coffee spot Eightball Coffee is stepping up to fill our empty cups after wins and it’s all thanks to current Spurs sixth man Keldon Johnson.

The company took to social media to shout to the entire 210: “LET ME TELL YALL SUMTHIN’” while sharing that courtesy of Keldon Johnson, they are serving up a free 8-ounce drip coffee the following day after a Spurs playoff win for all 2026 playoff games. The post, which showed an illustration of KJ about to dunk a basketball with a cup of coffee in hand, was posted on Wednesday, April 15. 

The comments were absolutely flooded with people being ecstatic for the promotion, and even more grateful that a Spurs player was the one who set it in motion to make it happen. “Eightball is for the culture fr,” Instagram user @trilldeal wrote in the comments. “I’m already in line,” @sanantovintagetx wrote. “we are so back free coffee after spurs win,” user @dereks_.wrld said. 

More words of “Just like old times,” “We back baby,” and “Coffee on KJ is a vibe,” just kept hitting up the comment section. But if you’re wondering “Why is free coffee in San Antonio after a Spurs win a big deal?” Here’s an answer:

Free coffee, or cappuccinos, was a playoff staple in the 210 for years, which was sadly, and quietly, discontinued after the 2018 season. At the time, some Valero gas stations were converting to Circle K stores, and when the question was asked in 2019 why the promotion ended, Twitter/X users were not happy about it. Although we never truly got an answer as to why it stopped, it’s good to know KJ and Eightball are stepping up for the one time.

The promotion is valid from 8 to 10 a.m. every morning after a Spurs playoff win, which could happen as soon as Monday if the Silver and Black take care of business in game 1 against the Portland Trailblazers on Sunday. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
