Impact: Santos was already a star player for Seven Lakes, but he took his game to another level for the nationally ranked Spartans during the 2025-26 campaign. The 6-foot-6 junior was the team’s leading scorer and rebounder and brought plenty of versatility to the lineup for coach Shannon Heston while shooting 55% from the floor. Santos, a top-10 finalist for the Guy V. Lewis Award, helped Seven Lakes finish the season with a 35-1 record and reach No. 8 in the MaxPreps national rankings. He was a Class 6A all-state selection by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

Coach of the Year

Chris Iles, Fort Bend Crawford

Impact: Iles guided a young Crawford program ito the Class 4A Division I state championship game. While the team ultimately came up short with a loss to Dallas Kimball in that contest, Crawford further solidified its foundation for the future as it makes the jump to Class 5A next season. Iles’ squad finished the season with a 31-7 record.

Newcomer of the Year

Anthony Key, Soph., F, Atascocita

Stats: 14.2 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 2 apg, 2 spg, 1 bpg
