I-35 NB reduced to one lane in downtown Austin due to serious crash near bridge

AUSTIN, TX — A serious injury collision shut down most of northbound I-35 in downtown Austin early Sunday morning, according to police.

The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. between Riverside Drive and Cesar Chavez Street. Officers have reduced the roadway to one lane.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the left lane remains open. Drivers are being asked to seek alternate routes.
