The incident is being investigated by Dallas police as an officer-involved shooting.

An officer pulled a vehicle over in the 4100 block of Mockingbird Lane at 2:16 a.m. after the vehicle was seen driving without its headlights on, police said.

During the traffic stop, a male passenger in the vehicle got out and approached the officer’s car, police said. The officer got out of their vehicle as well. The man got closer to the officer and hit the officer in the face, according to police.
