Rated America’s #1 children’s museum by Parents magazine, the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center brings hands-on learning to Sugar Land in a 12,000-square-foot restored building.
The kids can take on jobs, earn Kidtropolis money, vote on community decisions, and run a miniature city in the flagship Kidtropolis, USA exhibit.
In another corner, the Tot*Spot area, designed specifically for children ages birth to 35 months, features bubble tubes, a padded play space, mirrored walls, and a toddler walk to help little ones build balance and coordination.
The center also runs six total exhibits covering science, culture, arts, and more, including “How Does It Work?”, where the kids can explore physics through pulleys, pneumatic tubes, and gear chains.
The museum also hosts weekly WonderWeeks programming with themed art, science, and math activities, and offers Sensory-Friendly Days with dimmed lights and calming sounds for children with sensory sensitivities.

Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land
The Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land is the kind of place where kids walk in curious and leave full of questions, the best kind.
You and the family can explore permanent exhibit halls covering paleontology, earth science, life science, space, and more, all without the crowds of the main Hermann Park location.
Kids who love dinosaurs will also go wild at the Fossil Dig Pit, where children under 11 actually sift through stone to unearth cast fossil replicas of real prehistoric creatures.

A Sugar Land Space Cowboys game is one of the best family outings the area has to offer, and the stadium experience is worth the trip even if your kids couldn’t care less about the sport.
The Kiddie Corral is a splash pad-enhanced playground that anchors a sprawling outfield concourse area, with a scoreboard shaped like the state of Texas looming overhead. The playground itself is half space-themed and half Western-themed, giving kids of different ages and energy levels plenty to do while the game plays out behind them.

If you’re looking for a free, easy outdoor outing that the whole family can actually enjoy, Oyster Creek Park delivers every time.
The park spans just over 111 acres and centers around a gorgeous rock-lined pond with a multi-level waterfall and a picturesque bridge over Oyster Creek. The park also has a 3-mile paved hike and bike trail is lighted until 10:00 p.m. nightly, so you’re not rushing to beat the sunset either.
Keep your eyes open along the way and you might spot cardinals, blue jays, squirrels, and the occasional alligator in the creek, which tends to make the walk a lot more exciting for curious kids.

Brazos River Park & Pump Track
Brazos River Park features a shaded large playground, a pump track for bikers and skateboarders, a 9-hole disc golf course, picnic tables with grills, and mountain biking trails, all along the scenic banks of the Brazos River.
For the older, more adventurous kids in your crew, the Go Ape Zipline & Adventure Park is perfect for an afternoon of adventure. The attraction operates right inside the park, offering a three-hour Aerial Adventure Course with ziplines of up to 500 feet, rope ladders, and Tarzan swings through a mature tree canopy.
While the older kids zip through the treetops, the younger ones can stay busy at the playground right next door.

At 754 acres, Cullinan Park is one of the largest nature parks in the Houston area, and it rewards families who slow down and actually look around.

Sugar Land Town Square is one of those places you’ll find yourself coming back to without really planning to. It’s walkable, open-air, and always has something going on from outdoor movie nights on the central plaza to the beloved annual Fall Festival and Christmas Tree Lighting.
The green space also gives kids room to run freely while you browse the shops or linger over a meal at one of the surrounding restaurants.

Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park
Urban Air in Sugar Land is the answer to every rainy day, school holiday, and “I’m bored” afternoon your kids will ever throw at you.
Beyond the trampolines, the facility includes wall-to-wall jumping arenas, a foam pit, climbing walls, a slam dunk zone, and a tumble track.
The highlight for older kids is the Urban Warrior Course, inspired by the hit TV show American Ninja Warrior. This is a full obstacle course that tests strength, agility, and grip in the most fun way possible.
