A downed power line has shut down both directions of Interstate 10 in the San Antonio area on Sunday, April 19, according to a Facebook post from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).
Officials posted about the incident around 11 a.m., stating the “13000 block of I-10 will be shut down due to a downed power line.” CPS Energy is currently on scene and is expected to take about an hour for repairs, BCSO said. The incident occurred on the far Eastside of San Antonio near FM 1518.Â
“Please avoid this area and find alternate routes,” the BCSO stated.
CPS Energy has been working on outages all night and morning after a storm rolled through the area overnight. About 67 customers are without power due to 13 active outages as of 11:30 a.m., according to an outage map. CPS Energy wrote on X that it’s committed to restoring power to every impacted customer as “quickly and safely as possible.”
“We thank our customers for their patience and understanding of our crews as they keep #safetyfirst in mind,” CPS Energy wrote.
