Another homebuilder is planting a flag in North Texas, this time in Anna, as development continues to push farther north of Dallas.
Century Communities announced it will begin selling homes in the Anna Town Square development, with a grand opening scheduled for April 18, according to a company news release.
The project is part of a broader wave of residential growth across North Texas, where smaller cities like Anna are seeing increased demand as buyers look beyond Dallas’ core for more space and relatively lower prices.
Homes in the development will include single- and two-story layouts with up to four bedrooms and more than 3,000 square feet, along with amenities like a resort-style pool, clubhouse and trails, the company said.
Anna, located roughly 45 miles north of downtown Dallas, has become one of several fast-growing communities drawing attention from builders and buyers alike.
The development is also positioned near major employment hubs in McKinney and Frisco, offering what the company describes as a more accessible option for commuters.

As Chron previously reported, housing development across North Texas has continued to expand outward, with new communities taking shape in suburbs and smaller cities as population growth and affordability pressures reshape where people live.
North Texas has remained one of the state’s most active housing markets in recent years, with developers continuing to bet on long-term demand even as conditions evolve.
That growth has also come with changing expectations from buyers, including a greater emphasis on amenities and flexible home designs.
In a statement, Century Communities Division President Taylor Humphrey said the Anna project is aimed at buyers looking for those features in a fast-growing area.
“We’re thrilled to join Anna Town Square, where buyers will enjoy a beautiful selection of floor plans in a great location with lifestyle-enhancing amenities,” he said.
