1. H-E-B gives updates on two new Denton locations
H-E-B is set to open two new locations in Denton next year, Mabrie Jackson, managing director of public affairs, H-E-B/Central Market, said in an email. One store—which will be located on Robson Ranch Road and will feature a fuel station and car wash—is slated to open in the first part of 2027, Jackson said. The second location, which will be on University Drive, is scheduled to open in the fall of 2027.

2. Cracker Barrel shifts opening date for new Prosper restaurant
The eatery that was initially expected to open April 27 is pushing it’s opening date back to “late spring or early summer,” a company representative said.

3. Upgrades coming to Terminals D, F at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport
Ticketing enhancements in Terminal D and Terminal F and Skylink Station work on Terminal F, were among the items approved at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport board meeting April 2. Additionally, Terminal C and Terminal F will be receiving new sculpture installations.

4. Single-family zoning case in north McKinney heads to council
New single-family homes are being proposed for a nearly 39-acre property along FM 543 in north McKinney. McKinney’s Planning and Zoning Commission voted 6-1 to recommend approval of a zoning request for the property during an April 14 meeting.

5. McKinney to enter negotiations with Parkhill for proposed sports complex
City officials are entering into an exclusive negotiating period with Parkhill to develop about 300 acres in north McKinney for a sports and entertainment complex. McKinney City Council members approved a resolution April 7 authorizing the city manager to negotiate an agreement with Parkhill to lead, develop and program a “landmark sports and entertainment complex.” The negotiating period will run up to 180 days, according to a city document.
