One of Texas’ most recognizable musicians paid a visit to an iconic eatery in his hometown of Fort Worth.

Leon Bridges stopped by Kincaid’s Hamburgers on Camp Bowie Boulevard, according to an April 10 Instagram post from the 80-year-old burger joint. 

“Y’all might’ve heard @leonbridges was back in Panther City,” the post read. “Well…look where he stopped by! Our Camp Bowie location got a visit from the hometown hero while he filmed his top 5 spots to hit in Fort Worth.”

Bridges made the trek with Visit Fort Worth, and according to the city’s tourism site, Kincaid’s has been “deemed Fort Worth’s best burger by Leon himself.” As for what he orders, Bridges’ go-to is the bacon cheeseburger with extra pickles, a side of fries and a vanilla shake. His other Cow Town favorites were Trinity Park for the outdoors and Chieffalo Americana for vintage shopping, as well as The Down ‘n Out bar and the lobby bar at Bowie House for a drink with atmosphere.

Jonathan Gentry, who runs Kincaid’s with his brother Christian, told MySA they’d known Bridges to be a fan of the restaurant for a while. Gentry said they were “luckily and thankfully” reached out to by Visit Fort Worth for the campaign, and the day the singer came by entailed a full-scale team of cameras, stylists and more. According to Gentry, Bridges was “a very, very nice guy” who took pictures and talked to “everybody that was in there.”

“All the customers, of course, recognized him and were ecstatic to see him because he’s definitely one of Fort Worth’s favorite sons,” Gentry said. “So we’re very proud that he’s a local person and continues to be that kind of person and support the local places.”

Not only does the “Texas Sun” singer have street markers giving the name Leon Bridges Way to the stretch between East Vickery Boulevard and East Broadway Avenue, but his roots in the city go deep. Though born in Atlanta, Bridges moved to Fort Worth at the age of two, he told The Great Discontent in 2017. After attending Crowley High School, he went to Tarrant County College, where he picked up a love for performing and the retro sound he’s known for today.

Residents can still spot him out and about in North Texas, as Bridges surprised fans in November 2025 by casually performing on a sidewalk in Dallas’ Bishop Arts District.
