Lubbock city officials and local businesses are preparing for a significant influx of visitors as country music icon George Strait performs two consecutive concerts at Jones AT\&T Stadium on Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25, 2026. The back-to-back shows, titled “Strait to Texas Tech,” represent the first time the artist has held consecutive performances at the venue.
The event is expected to mirror the logistical scale of two consecutive college football game days, testing the city’s infrastructure, hospitality sector, and traffic management systems. Texas Tech University Athletics has already scheduled an early access merchandise sale for the general public on Wednesday and Thursday to alleviate expected capacity crowds at the stadium.
Local radio station Lonestar 92.3 has announced a promotional ticket giveaway to provide fans a final opportunity to attend the sold-out series. The station will host a registration event at Titan Factory Direct in Odessa on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., where attendees can enter to win a pair of tickets for the Saturday night performance.
The concert lineup features different supporting acts for each night to accommodate the diverse audience. Zach Top and Dylan Gossett are scheduled to open the Friday show, while Miranda Lambert and Hudson Westbrook will join Strait on stage for the Saturday finale.
