Country music icon George Strait will perform consecutive stadium shows at Lubbock’s Jones AT\&T Stadium on Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25, 2026. The event marks one of the most significant musical appearances in the city’s recent history as part of the artist’s final extended tour.

Texas Tech University Athletics confirmed that the concerts will feature an in-the-round staging configuration to accommodate capacity crowds. Limited tickets remain available for both nights, which serve as a stop on what Strait has dubbed “The Cowboy Rides Away Tour.”

The performance lineup varies by night, with Dylan Gossett and Zach Top opening the Friday show. On Saturday, the stage will feature Texas Tech alumnus Hudson Westbrook and country star Miranda Lambert before Strait takes the headlining slot.

Lubbock Prepared for Massive George Strait Concert Weekend Rush

To manage the anticipated influx of fans, Texas Tech is hosting an early merchandise sale on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the green space west of the stadium. Parking east of the venue has been closed through April 27 to accommodate production requirements.

Organizers have implemented specific logistics for the weekend, including a 2:30 p.m. opening for parking lots and a 4:15 p.m. gate entry time each day. Citibus will provide complimentary shuttle services starting at 3 p.m. from various campus and city locations.
