Understanding Trauma and Responding with Care

The Prevention Resource Center through Lubbock Public Health, in partnership with Voice of Hope, will be hosting an educational opportunity on trauma-informed care.

Participants will learn how trauma affects the body, emotions, and behavior, and how systems can respond in ways that build safety, trust, and empowerment.

The session will highlight key principles of trauma-informed practice, recognize common trauma responses, and offer practical strategies for engaging individuals with compassion and respect. Emphasis will be placed on reducing re-traumatization, strengthening collaboration, and improving outcomes for individuals and families served within the community.

This event will take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the Lubbock Public Health Department, located at 2015 50th St., Lubbock, TX 79412, at 12 pm.

The event is free and open to the public.
