Sarah Jakes Roberts, the co-senior pastor of Potter’s House in Dallas, said she was hospitalized after a serious trampoline accident Saturday.

In a social media post Sunday, Jakes Roberts said she was playing on a trampoline with her daughter when she landed on her neck and “heard several pops.”

“I was almost paralyzed, but God didn’t see fit to let that be my story,” Jakes Roberts said in the post.

Jakes Roberts is the daughter of the Dallas megachurch founder Bishop T.D. Jakes, who led Potter’s House for almost 30 years. Jakes Roberts and her husband ,Touré Roberts, took the leadership reins from the elder Jakes in July 2025.

Jakes Roberts said she will have to wear a neck brace for four to six weeks and will be “lying low” as she recovers.

“I’m soaking in the presence and kindness of God and in the love of friends and family,” Jakes Roberts said, with a photo accompanying the post showing her in a hospital bed, posing with her hand in a peace sign.

The co-senior pastor started Woman Evolve, a women’s empowerment brand that features a podcast, devotional newsletter and book club, in the late 2010s. Her 2021 book Woman Evolve was a New York Times bestseller. She has 2.3 million followers on Facebook and 3 million on Instagram.

Jake Roberts’ father founded the nondenominational church in 1996. The church says it has 30,000 members.

In April 2025, Jakes announced he would be passing leadership of the church to his daughter and son-in-law. Jakes suffered a health incident at Potter’s House while giving his sermon on stage in November 2024. He later told The Today Show the incident was a “massive” heart attack. The same month, Jakes filed a lawsuit against a former minister who accused Jakes of alleged attempted sexual assault.
