FORT WORTH – Deloris Franklin passed away on April 15, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 81. Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suites C and D, 3344 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Funeral: 12 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2026, in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Interment: Cedar Hill Cemetery, 8301 Mansfield Hwy, Arlington, Texas 76001. Deloris was born to Ulysses C. Lewis and Idas Bills (Willis). She was raised in Fairfield, Texas, where she attended local schools and graduated from Butler High School in 1962. After completing her education, she relocated to Fort Worth in 1963, where she made her home for over six decades. A woman of deep faith, Deloris was raised in the church and remained devoted throughout her life. After moving to Fort Worth, she united with New Hope Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of the late Reverend T. Fields. She later became a founding member of New Providence Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. C.A. Noell, where she faithfully served for more than 50 years. At the time of her passing, she was a dedicated member of New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Howard McLean, serving in the honored role of church mother. Committed to lifelong learning and spiritual growth, Deloris earned an Associate Degree in Biblical Studies from Mount Olive Bible Institute in 2023. Deloris will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her years of service to her church communities, and her lasting impact on all who knew her.
