CCPD searching for man accused of killing cat with knife

Police say the suspect ran away after allegedly harming a cat in the Fort Worth Street area.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Officers were called to the area around 3:24 p.m. for a report of a suspicious person.

When they arrived, police were told a man used a knife to injure a cat. The cat later died from its injuries.

The suspect then left the scene on foot, heading toward Hamlin Drive and Staples Street.

Officers recovered the cat and turned it over to Animal Care Services.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male with brown hair, unknown age, with tattoos on both arms and his neck. He was wearing black pants and a blue shirt.

Corpus Christi police say the case is under active investigation. Detectives are working the case, and patrol officers are continuing to search for the suspect.
