The city of Saginaw is proposing a $59 million bond package in May to fund street improvements, park enhancements and a new animal control facility.

The bond proposal includes three propositions, A-C. Each proposition has a different budget and targets different areas of need throughout Saginaw. Voters can approve or disapprove of any or all of the propositions.

Saginaw Proposition A: Street Improvements

Total: $38 million

Street reconstruction: Priority to E. McLeroy Blvd and Industrial Avenue

Concrete, curb and gutter storm drainage

Sidewalks and neighborhood streets after E. McLeroy and Industrial

Saginaw Proposition B: Park Improvements

Total: $6 million

Renovating playgrounds to meet accessibility requirements; priority given to William Houston, Willow Creek and Sagewood Parks

Equipping playgrounds with shade structures

Upgrade existing restrooms

Saginaw Proposition C: Animal Control Facility

Total: $15 million

Construction of a new Animal Control Shelter Facility to be located near the corner of Minton Rd and Defiel Rd

Approx 10k square feet (twice the size of the current facility)

Total includes: design, site preparation, utilities, pavement, and furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE)
